Department at a Glance

The Department Started in 1946. Dr. Anima Sen Gupta was the first Head of the department. She was a very learned scholar of repute.

  • Dr. Punam Singh attended several National level Seminars and presented papers.
  • Ms. Priyanka Kumari, B.A. - III, selected by the ICPR to present her essay "Role of Youth in National Integration" at Chennai University.

Activities & Future Plans

  • The department organises different competitions on the eve of "Teachers Day" and celebrates this day with great zeal with good participation of students and teachers.
  • Human Rights Day is observed every year.
  • The Department is planning to start a certificate course in Yoga Soon.
